LG Showcases Latest Technology at LG Social Club
LG Social Club – Members Only – Experience LG’s latest technology
LG Social Club – Members Only, was held at the Spoke Club, whereby media, partners, and LG staff all got to experience the latest technology in TVs and home appliances. This was the second year for the Social Club. Special guests for the evening were President and General Manager of the Toronto Raptors, Masai Ujiri, Toronto Raptors Point Guard, Cory Joseph, Assistant General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs and General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, Kyle Dubas and Chopped Canada Judge (and Iron Chef America winner) Chef Chuck Hughes.
During the evening, LG‘s new partnership with Chef Chuck Hughes was announced with the promise of exciting events to happen throughout the year.
We experienced the LG OLED TV, which has some very special features. There are 33 million individual LEDs on each screen and with the LG technology, there is individual pixel level control of each LED. The result is deep rich black on the screen, and all colours pop and become more accurate. The OLED is very slim, with only a 2.55 mm thickness. It also has a 60 watt hybrid soundbar built into the base of the television. There is a premium magic remote control, which one holds like a wand. It makes it quite easy to scroll through apps on Smart TV.
The 65″ model (65G6) is priced at $11,000.00 The other models start at $4000.00
This unique TV is now available in higher end retailers across Canada.
We also learned about the LG Black Stainless Steel Series of appliances which are quite sleek and attractive. The 3 door French door refrigerator/freezer has unique features including the Slim Spaceplus Ice System, which provides more shelf space and allows more space for door bins. It also has the tall ice and water dispensing system, Smart Cooling Plus to keep superior conditions within, Glide N’ Serve drawer and SmartDiagnosis (which allows the service centre to diagnose problems over the phone). We also tried tapping the fridge’s glass window and lo behold, the light turned on, letting us see inside the refrigerator. That was very cool (no pun intended).
Afterwards, we checked out the LG Inverter Direct Drive Washing Machine. With this design, the wash performance is incredible, giving perfect results every time. Creasing is minimized. It also has a low noise speed control system which keeps the noise level down. The accompanying dryer opens two ways to make it easy to load and unload. Laundry seems so much easier with these LG machines.
During the evening we enjoyed delicious appetizers including chicken skewers, mini grilled cheese, chicken quesadillas, Korean bbq, spicy salmon sushi, spring rolls and mini sliders. Music was provided by DJ Alasi.
