The first annual Spring Into Change fundraising gala, benefiting the SickKids Patient Amenities Fund, was held this past Saturday at The Spoke Club.
The fundraiser was attended by over 200 people with the goal of raising $30,000 and was organized by Jill Hamilton, who has a strong personal connection to SickKids, Howard Ng and Laura Ryan.
The night featured cocktails and lots of tasty appetizers including Reuben spring rolls, crab artichoke in a pastry shell, mini “Big Mac” sliders, deep-fried calamari in a pepper sauce, mini grilled cheese, scallops, poutine, and mushroom and goat cheese in a pastry shell.
For dessert, there was also a candy bar.
Dave Murphy Band provided entertainment by playing classic hits that appealed to all ages.
A silent auction area was also present featuring some great items like the Hudson’s Bay classic collection.
Proceeds from the ticket sales will go directly to the Patient Amenities Fund at SickKids, which helps families who need financial assistance to support their sick children.
