On Thursday, Jan 31 we were invited to the official opening party of 2nd Floor Events venue– Toronto’s newest venue by the same team that brought us SPiN Toronto. The venue was a ‘turnkey space with a design-centric approach’. It can host up to 215 people standing and 160 people seated. The room features round and rectangular tables, a Stanton M.203 two channel mixer, 2 Stanton CMP.800 professional multi-format players with MIDI control, wireless microphone, house speaker system, and a projector and screen upon request.
We also had a chance to preview and taste their seasonal and locally sourced menu by chef Jon Lovett before anyone else. The dishes were all crafted with locally grown ingredients from regional suppliers. We loved the colonel’s crispy chicken skewers with dixie coleslaw, the beet cured sustainable blue char, and the beet caviar on sweet potato chips. The lamb chops were definitely one of the most special ones that I’ve tasted with the sausage stuffing.
