In August, the Led Zeppelin revivalist band Mr. Jimmy will make their Toronto debut for their internationally acclaimed revival show, Mr. Jimmy. Presented by the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, audiences will be treated to a faithful and authentic recreation of Led Zeppelin’s historic 1973 three-night residency at Madison Square Garden. This same concert led to the hit live album and concert film The Song Remains the Same.
From August 8th to 10th, audiences will experience this iconic moment in rock music history, where Led Zeppelin was at the height of their “because we can” glory. Expect a meticulously detailed, extremely entertaining, note-for-note performance extravaganza that replicates every single detail of the classic shows. Vintage equipment, elaborate staging, double-neck Gibsons galore, and explosive, passionate energy await you when you watch Mr. Jimmy.
Akio Sakurai, the lead guitarist and founder of Mr. Jimmy, will blow you away with his so-damn-close-to-perfect accuracy and mimicry of Jimmy Page’s music and mannerisms!
Fellow band members August Young (vocals), Alexis Angel (bass guitar), and George Fludas (drums) will join Akio Sakurai onstage. These concerts promise to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, where we will witness the magic of Jimmy Page up close and personal.
