Hush Hush, the first New Collection Party fundraiser for the Toronto Public Library Foundation, was held at the Bloor/Gladstone Library.
Sipping cocktails and enjoying entertainment while walking through the stacks at the library was a unique experience. Those attending got to experience sexy “librarian” dancers, magic from Jonathan Pollock, customized poetry stickers from the Spontaneous Prose Store, spoken word poetry by Lucas Regazzi, prizes from Random House and music by DJs Fathom and GeeWizz. There was plenty to snack on including Paulette’s Original Donuts, Chicken-Fried Tacos by John Stephan Catering, salads by Crave, mussels by Starfish Oyster Bed & Grill. Big House Wines provided their roster of wines as well.
New Collection is a young patrons group for those in their 20’s and 30’s . Members have the opportunity to attend exclusive events such as cocktails with author Douglas Copeland, former president & CEO of Maple Leaf Sports, Richard Peddie, private tours of the Librarys’ special collections and lectures while supporting the Toronto Public Library.
