Honey Jam Concert 2019 Toronto – An all-female concert discovering new talents at the Mod Club.

The Mod Club was filled with excitement and a fantastic amount of talents on August 22, 2019! It was the big night for the 20 participants – all female – to give their Honey Jam Concert. The concert is the build-up of a year’s worth of activities. The program included learning about the music industry, mentoring and voice coaching, networking, “Meet the Producers” event, the launch in July with Grammy Award-winning artist Elle Varner, attending the Junos and Canada Music Week, promotion on Honeyjam.com among a list of excellent benefits.
The animated host of the evening was Amanda Parris. The high-energy evening divided into 3 parts with 2 intermissions. All 20 of the young women performed their talents like singing, dancing and playing guitar – the talent was unbelievable! All kinds of music including Country, rap, poetry in motion, pop were played. Some had composed their own songs and music — all accompanied by the amazing house band. The stage was beautifully lit and highlighted the participants wonderfully.
Ebonnie Rowe, Executive director of PhemPhat Entertainment Group, is the woman who started it all. She created Honey Jam in 1995. Ebonnie came on the stage, looking radiant. She thanked the participants, the sponsors, and described herself as being a tough boss, yet with excellent results. Adored and admired by the Honey Jam participants – her guidance and experience were so appreciated by everyone at the Mod Club event, especially the participants. She presented the $5,000 Yamaha prize to Sagele Archer. Grace Marr was the proud recipient of the recording session with Slaight Music.
Final songs at the end of the concert were with the whole group – all 20 of the talented women on stage. The stars got emotional that the Honey Jam experience was over, and expressed that the experience is one they’ll never forget, and look forward to their careers in music.
The evening of music could be described as the Future. Dynamic. New talent. Keep your eyes open for these 20 young talented artists! We’ll be hearing of them again soon! Congratulations to them all!
Next year in 2020 will be the 25th anniversary of Honey Jam. The event gets better and better each year …so we’re marking our calendars for next year’s Honey Jam Concert in Toronto!
