Katie Gallagher Veiled Fall/Winter 2016 Collection Launch Party & Preview During New York Fashion Week – The Django, Roxy Hotel

In lieu of a traditional runway show, Katie Gallagher, New York based fashion designer “unveiled” her “Veiled” FW16 collection through a pre-New York Fashion Week fete. Members of the media were invited to an exclusive preview on Tuesday, February 9th, in one of The Roxy Hotel’s beautiful penthouse. The new collection recalls Gallagher’s first all-black collection, Veil (SS 2010), with reworked pieces from Veil.

Katie Gallagher’s Veiled Fall/Winter 2016 collection takes inspiration from gothic architecture, stained glass, and Harry Clarke’s illustrations, and expresses them through textures and subtle details like stained glass-inspired lace, twisted seams and twill tape with velvet ribbons. Signature looks and statement pieces are created by mix and matching different materials: buckskin jackets are combined with silk rompers over mesh leggings; paper spandex body suits are worn under see-through lace skirts and wool rompers, making the monochromatic collection distinctive and playful.

To further celebrate the launch of the Veiled Fall/Winter 2016 collection, guests joined Katie Gallagher for the after party at the hotel’s new jazz club, The Django, where a film of the new collection was screened, and black macarons, dark chocolates, and pink cocktails were served.
