In the early afternoon of Sunday, September 30, there was great excitement for the annual ABC (after BREAST CANCER) event at the Liberty Grand. This was a luncheon fundraiser for the after BREAST CANCER program created by Alicia Vianga. Alicia realized over six years ago that there was a need for an organization for women to be supported financially in order to get the proper mastectomy bra and breast prosthesis.

After surgery and while going through treatments, women need aftercare education, support, and resources. To date, The after BREAST CANCER organization has helped over 505 women with breast cancer across Canada.
The luncheon Gala held in a beautiful ballroom at the Liberty Grand in Toronto was a fundraising celebration. Over 50 tables of 10 seats each were decorated with beautiful flowers and ready for guests to enjoy themselves. Guests were all dressed to the nines to celebrate the 6th Annual after Breast Cancer Gala. The fundraiser event thanked the donors, celebrated breast cancer survivors, thanked volunteers and promoted the after BREAST CANCER program.
Founder Alicia Vianga, looking lovely in a red dress, was present everywhere attending to fine details of the presentations and the event.
In the other ballroom, an extensive collection of silent auction items were on display for bidding.
Lunch was a delicious gourmet set with salad, chicken and root vegetables, a vegetarian option was available too. Dessert was a cheesecake with the initials ABC for after BREAST CANCER written in syrup on the plate, a very creative touch.
Master of Ceremonies Sam Ciccolini created a pleasant atmosphere for the presentations. Awards were given, and a congratulatory message read from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The keynote speaker was Dr. Mansoor Mohammed, a well-respected doctor, Mohammed is considered a pioneer in medical genomics and has received many awards in his fields of medical study. He was an excellent, motivating speaker.
The music entertainment consisted of two well known and respected singers: multi-juno nominee singer Divine Brown wooed the audience with her soulful singing and her presence with her guitarist followed by  Amy Sky’s performance. Both singers went out into the audience to sing and interact closely with the attendees. Special guests included Olympic gold medalist – Alexander Kopacz who provided photo-ops for guests to snap photos with his gold medal, and actress Charlotte Hegele.

After there was a live auction with a beautiful selection such as hockey jerseys, framed pictures of The Tragically Hip and Inuit framed prints. Raffle tickets were available for purchase for Draw prizes, guests received gift bags, enjoyed the luncheon and live entertainment. The 6th Annual Pink Diamond Gala 2018 was an essential and pleasurable way for guests to continue supporting the work of The after BREAST CANCER program.
