OK, let’s be honest. This year has been tough. Money has been tight again, but there has been so much in the stores tempting us all year. It’s hard seeing all the great fashion out there, but not being able to buy everything we want. If you are on a budget, or a shopping break, you may be wondering how you can freshen your look.
If looking at the same outfit in the mirror over and over again depresses you, it is time to make a change. Wearing the same clothes can get a little boring, or even remind you your inability to replace them at the moment. There are ways you can wear your outfit in a different way for a whole new look. It’s just about finding the right inspiration.
1. Add-ons
If you have a favourite top that you have been wearing a fair bit, you can freshen its look with accessories. Chunky beads are creeping their way back in, but this time, they are working great with scarves. The tangled look is doing wonders to enhance that top you have seen just a few too many times. Alternatively, you can transform your clothes by adding a sexy vest, putting the detail and the eye on the upper layer.
2. Eliminate
It may simply be time to dust off the old bits you haven’t worn for a while. If you have been opting for mostly trousers, pull out some of your skirts for a fresh new look. Combine a more summery skirt with printed leggings to spice up the style and bring it into this season. Add some killer heels, and you could be onto a fresh looking winner.
3. Layering
Layering is also an excellent way for a new look. At this time of year, you can get away with mixing and matching items. Combine that old wooly jumper with a scarf and some accessories. Wrap a wide belt loosely around that old A-line skirt.
4. Hair & Makeup
Wearing your hair a different way and changing your make-up is another great way to breathe new life into an old look. Wearing your hair up with statement earrings can draw the attention back up to your face, and away from clothes you have been wearing too often. New shoes or a handbag can also make an enormous difference to an ensemble, so spend some time in front of the mirror to see what you can put together.
5. New Evergreen Piece(s)
If you do want to inject some new items to your old wardrobe, pick pieces that can be worn in several ways. Try a longer length top that will work with both pants and skirts, and can also be worn under a vest. Shop smart to get as many looks out of your fashion choices as possible!
