二戰台中新社莊園「古堡餐廳」，這次終於被我找到了！

殘編是個旅行家，在殘障前雖然去45個國家，晉升為「殘編」後，卻被困在這一個自稱還是「福爾摩沙」的島嶼上。當我聽說台中居然有一家「古堡餐廳」，我當然是立馬揪人殺去。只可惜中風後的腦不管用，我們開了3小時的車來到了這裡，雖然他們的餐點蠻好吃，但是我要看的是古堡啊！

Taichung Xinshe Castle is a beautiful attraction in Taiwan with European-style architecture and picturesque landscapes perfect for a day out or an outdoor photo-shooting.

I am a traveler who had been continuously traveling the world until a stroke hit me and trapped me in this GD disabled body. My goal is to travel the world. I’d hit 45 out of 195 countries before being strained on this island that still calls itself “Formosa.” “Formosa” was the name that the Portuguese gave us in 1895, which literally means “beautiful island.” To date, we’re probably the only ones who still call ourselves by that name. I first learned about Taichung Xinshe Castle  when I was looking for a “retreat (preferably with good food, of course).” Thanks to my malfunctioning brains, my first attempt to this famous castle with a restaurant was a failure, which I wrote about in this post. We drove for 3 hours and ended up here. Thanks to my stubbornness, my second attempt to Taichung’s Xinshe Castle Restaurant is a success and does not disappoint.

• 台中新社產香菇，我們接近新社時，一路上有多各式各樣的「菇」指標：有「菇」園、香菇行、「菇」餐廳、菇類伴手禮等各式各樣的商家指標，我們差一點又分了心，改道去吃香菇大餐了！

Known as Taiwan’s “Kingdom of Mushrooms,” Taichung Xinshe produces much of our local mushrooms. Our way to Xinshe Castle is lined with mushroom farms, mushroom restaurants, and all kinds of different mushroom businesses selling mushroom produce. We are distracted with all the signs and banners and almost take a detour for  gourmet “mushroom meal”!

• 經過第一次的烏龍事件，這次殘編的意志力戰勝誘惑，一心只想看見古堡。不逞一時之快是正確的抉擇，踏進新社莊園園區，彷彿踏進了取景於歐洲的經典兒童文學代表作「秘密花園」。我在這裡展開了一場夢幻的歐洲之旅。這個童話故事般的仙境，仿佛結合了我在歐洲待上一年多的歐洲之旅，一角是義大利、一角是德國、一角是荷蘭、還有一角是我還來不及去的地方，也難怪這裡是拍婚紗的熱門景點。

Willpower wins this time. My determination to see the castle turns out to be the right choice. Stepping into the Xinshe Summit Resort is like stepping into the European classic children’s literature “The Secret Garden.”.I embark on a fairy tale that combines my year-long Euro trip all in one. A corner looks like Italy, the other looks like Germany, the third is the Netherlands, and over there is where I haven’t had a chance to get to yet. No wonder the Summit Resort makes a popular destination for wedding shoots.

• 新社莊園園區內的景點，包括新社莊園一磚一瓦，最具代表性的「酒莊餐廳」、酷似羅馬建築物的「古堡」、具有中古世紀建築風格的「羅馬拱柱噴水池」、充滿南歐鄉村風味、販賣各種個性紀念品及精油的「朵拉小舖」、用石砌建築風格打造出來的「六角亭」、用木材組成的半露天空間「木屋」，以及隱藏在莊園一隅，鋪上石磚的步道，讓參觀者可以漫步在享受四季之美的「秘密花園」。

Attractions inside the resort include the known Wine Chateau Restaurant, the “Castle” resembling a Roman building, the “Roman Pillars and Fountain” with medieval style architecture, the “Dora Store” selling various souvenirs and essential oils, the “Hexagon,” the semi-open-air space “Wooden House,” and the “Secret Garden” with beautiful stone-paths allowing visitors to stroll through and appreciate the beauty of the four seasons.

• 遺憾的是，新社莊園全部都是步行區，並且沒有提供輪椅租賃的服務，殘編只能過過眼癮，台灣啊!台灣…，何時妳才能了解所謂「人權」的真諦。眼睛吃飽了還是要養胃，為了吃，殘編還是跋涉到「酒莊餐廳」享用美食。
  酒莊餐廳離大門不遠，至少還在殘編跛腳能抵達的範圍內，但是餐點真好吃。

Regrettably, Taichung Xinshe Summit Resort is not accessible and does not offer wheelchair rental service. Oh “Formosa” when will you start being beautiful from the inside out? Feasting our eyes on the beautiful scenery alone isn’t enough. The thought of real food pushed us to hike to the restaurant. The Wine Chateau isn’t too far from the entrance, at least within my “limpable” distance. Besides a beautiful patio, the restaurant also provides good quality food.

• 餐點均屬「套餐」式，附湯品、白飯甜點及飲料，殘編點了很久沒吃的咖哩。咖哩有「雞」跟「牛」的選擇，我選了「牛肉咖哩套餐」。

Each food item on the menu comes with a set which includes soup, rice, and a drink. I ordered “curry” since I haven’t had curry in a while. “Curry” is served with an option of “chicken” or “beef,” I opt for the beef.

• 上菜時，我的牛肉咖哩套餐有附一杯紅茶、一碗牛肉咖哩、一碗白飯、一碗湯。花椰菜、紅椒、紅蘿蔔、香菇、薯餅各一塊，還有一碗毛豆，兩片水梨和一碗青蛙下蛋。狀似玉米濃湯的湯品有淡淡的咖哩味，還灑上玉米脆片，增加口感，讓殘編過足了咖哩癮。咖哩本身香料味十足，雖加蘋果增加甜味，但是完全有別於台灣常吃到的「日式（假）咖哩」。牛肉塊更是驚喜般的「半筋半肉」。因為好吃的咖哩不好找，喜歡分享餐點的我，這次就默默的獨樂樂享用完畢啦！歹勢內～！

When served, a piece of broccoli, red pepper, carrot, mushroom, and hashbrown each decorate the plate; the set is complete with a bowl of edamame, two slices of pears and a bowl of tapioca.
The corn-soup looking soup has a curry flavour, and is sprinkled with corn flakes for texture. The curry is cooked with lots of spices. Although it also adds sweetness with apples, it is entirely different from the usual “Japanese (fake)” curry we get here. The beef itself is also a pleasant surprise, half of it is beef tendon. Since real curry is not easy to come across in Taiwan, I finish my meal without sharing.
