台灣街頭小吃店滿街都是,然而五花馬吸睛的五彩水餃籠早在我第一次經過他們店門口時就深深擄獲我心,納入踩點名單中。記得第一次吃五花馬是還在振興醫院住院時。過目不忘的彩色水餃就在當時腦頗弱的我的腦海裡盪漾,讓我朝思暮想,於是我就就溜出去吃,解解每天吃醫院食之無味的住院餐點的饞。

In Taiwan, streets are lined with small food joints and restaurant chains, but what caught my eye when I first passed Wuhuama restaurant was the picture of its eye-catching rainbow dumpling platter, which stood out from the others. I was hospitalized at Cheng Hsin General Hospital. I can’t remember if inpatients are allowed off the premises., but it was one of those days when I was suffocating, and if I didn’t get some sun and fresh air, I didn’t know if I could make it through the day. As I walked across the bridge, I passed by Wuhuama, one of the many food joints lining the street. The picture of its rainbow–coloured dumpling platter on the window captured my heart as soon as I saw it. I walk in to enjoy the first meal of my own choice for the year.
記得第一次預覽五花馬的菜單有點被驚艷到,小小一家麵食店店面,一走進去是整潔明亮的設計空間及擺設,讓客人一走進去,立即感覺到的是舒適的用餐環境。

It was my first time reading Wuhuama‘s menu; I was stunned. A storefront no flashier or more spacious than any other joint offers so much more. The restaurant has a clean and bright design. I feel comfortable and at home as soon as I walk in.
低調簡單的裝潢,乍看之下,跟一般小吃店沒有什麼差別,但仔細研究五花馬的菜單後,發現他們的餐點選擇玲琅滿目,竟從各種小菜、麵食到主食通通有,尤其光是主打的水餃就有近十幾種口味,包括高麗菜水餃、韭菜水餃、玉米水餃、綠色皮的地瓜葉口味水餃、橘色的南瓜水餃、黑色的虱目魚水餃、蝦仁水餃、酸辣湯水餃、牛肉湯餃、等。五花馬的水餃皮都是自製的,備食材使用採超音波洗菜,讓人吃得安心。在五花馬內用的好處除了琳瑯滿目的餐點選項外,就是他們所提供可以給饕客們無限自助的免費小米粥啦!一樣價錢的小吃店還提供免費無限自助式自的小米粥也太佛心了吧!?

At first glance, the interior is humble and straightforward, no different from any ordinary food joint. However, Wuhuama‘s menu, filled with dazzling meal choices, put a smile on my face. Wuhuama‘s menu has a wide variety of food options ranging from various traditional Taiwanese side dishes, dough foods, and a variety of main dishes. Their signature has to be their dumplings. For dumplings alone, Wuhuama‘s serves up to nearly a dozen different flavours, enough to put together a dish with a combination of colourful rainbow dumplings. The flavours include “pork & cabbage dumplings, “pork & chive dumplings,” “pork & corn dumplings,” the green–skinned “pork & sweet potato leaves dumplings,” orange-coloured “pork & pumpkin dumplings,” black- coloured “milkfish dumplings,” “pork & whole shrimp dumplings,” “hot and sour dumpling soup,” etc. Wuhuama‘s dumpling skins are all housemade, and the ingredients are washed with ultrasonic waves, allowing customers to chow down with peace in mind. In addition to the dazzling meal options, the advantage of dining in at Wuhuama is that they provide free unlimited millet rice porridge that can be self-served. With the same price point as any humble Taiwanese eatery, with the addition of all-you-can-eat millet rice porridge, it kind of sounds like charity to me, doesn’t it?
大顆大顆鮮橘色的水餃,水餃皮比一般大片。鮮橘色的水餃皮讓人以為內餡是鮮甜的南瓜泥,殊不知,一口咬下,內餡竟是一般豬肉水餃的口味,南瓜的比例只有一點點,但外觀是鮮亮的。

Each serving has ten large, bright orange dumplings. The dumpling skins are more extensive than average. At first glance, the fresh, bright orange dumpling skin will trick you into thinking that the filling is most likely sweet pumpkin puree. However, after a bite, the filling is the taste of ordinary pork dumplings. The proportion of pumpkin is only a little, but the appearance is eye-catching.
醃蘿蔔幾乎是100%原味,到一個是完全無添加的感覺,即便如此,還是越吃越ㄙㄨㄚˋ嘴。殘家是被殘編訓練成愛吃食物原味的特例,所以覺得超好吃,一般人可能覺得乏味。

Wuhuama‘s pickled radish tastes almost 100% all-natural, and it feels like it is entirely free of additives. Luckily, original tastes are my thing and what I trained my mom into liking. So, to us, this is super delicious. However, you may think otherwise.
殘編一般不愛吃厚皮的麵食,但五花馬的牛肉捲餅的餅皮雖稍有厚度、但口感Q彈有嚼勁,越嚼越香,大小也比一般牛肉捲大份,青蔥放得也比較多,讓您在享受嚼著餅皮的麵皮香味時,多了一層清脆的口感,讓我一口氣吃光光。

Generally, I’m not usually a fan of thick-skinned dough foods. Although Wuhuama‘s “Supreme Beef Pancake Rolls” have slightly thicker skin, the texture is chewy and doughy. The more you chew into it, the more fragrance of dough starts spreading and circulates in your mouth. While I enjoy the aromas while munching on the crust, an abundance of scallions adds layers and a crisp texture to the roll. Before I realized it, I had already finished a jumbo “Supreme Beef Pancake Rolls” in one breath. Sorry, not sorry!
去過幾百次香港,卻沒在當地吃過真正的港式蘿蔔糕。五花馬的港式蘿蔔糕外觀看起來比較焦黑,與一般台灣早餐店蘿蔔糕比起來吃進去口感卻是非常綿密的,應該是製作過程中米漿比例加比較多,越吃越好吃。五花馬的港式蘿蔔糕吃進去先享受白蘿蔔跟米漿在嘴裡入口即化的感覺,然後在等臘肉、蝦米、干貝等配料的香味在口中慢慢散發出來~~「嗯~幸福」。

All those trips to Hong Kong, yet I’ve never had a real local Hong Kong-style turnip cake. The appearance of Wuhuama‘s Hong Kong-style turnip cake looks relatively burnt, but the texture is very soft and mushy compared with the ordinary Taiwanese breakfast turnip cake. When eating Wuhuama‘s Hong Kong-style turnip cake, first enjoy the process of the turnip and rice mix melting in your mouth, and then wait for the aromas of bacon, dried shrimps, dried scallops, and other ingredients to slowly exude in your mouth~~”Hmm~ happiness. “
五花馬2007年創業至今不禁引起各大媒體報導、屢獲殊榮,拿下第九屆台灣金根獎、2011年10月第一屆「商業服務未來店(Future Store)創新競賽」「金質獎」、蘆洲集賢門市榮獲「新北市食補好店」、綜合香腸禮盒榮獲「新北市特色伴手禮」、[ACFPT品牌積極推廣優秀獎]、「2016年金讚百家好店」等。

Since its establishment in 2007, Wuhuama has attracted numerous mainstream media attention and won many awards. It won the 9th Taiwan Industrial Technology Association (TITA) Award and the first “Future Store Innovation Competition for Taiwan Trade” in October 2011. Wuhuama‘s Luzhou Xianmen location made it to the “New Taipei City Best Food Stores list. Wuhuama‘s assorted sausage gift box won the “New Taipei City Special Souvenir” award. It has also won the Association of Chain and Franchise Promotion, Taiwan (ACFPT)’s Brand Active Promotion Excellence Award.” In 2016, Wuhuama also made it to the “Top 100 Good Stores” list.
五花馬水餃館以「平價中的奢華」為衷心,讓消費者以平價的消費得到最高的享受。五花馬水餃館一路走來營業模式‘除了對品質的要求嚴格監控,一路走到現在的成功,沒有圖捷徑。也難怪我從第一次造訪五花馬至今不到五年的時間,口碑好到加盟店已擴張至全台甚至到離島的澎湖縣。現在真是「轉角就能遇到五花馬」,也是值得消費者一訪再訪的好店家。
